We've had a crazy busy week here. What a contrast from last week, which was still a summer vacation week. The kids started school on Monday and both have had a great time with their new classes. I've been able to start some extra cleaning projects like organizing in the garage with all that quiet while they're gone. ;-)
I also started giving piano lessons on Tuesday. I have 5 students. Two on Tuesdays, one on Thursday, and two on Friday. After soccer season is over the Friday kids will move to Thursdays.
Brianne started soccer last week. Her first game was yesterday. She is quite the little soccer player. She seemed to thrive on the attention and adrenaline. She scored 3 or 4 goals. And asked if they could keep playing when the game was done. She was hardly tired!
Rebecca started dance with a new dance studio. We decided to try somewhere a little more low key b/c her last teacher was quite aggressive and stressed her out. She has a friend in the neighborhood going there as well. Last Wednesday when I took her to dance, everyone was standing on the sidewalk outside the door to the hall she rents. Turns out the teacher couldn't get in to the locked building because her purse had been stolen that morning and her keys were in it. We were waiting for someone with another key to arrive and open the door. She walked us over to her trunk and showed us the huge hole around where the lock is supposed to be. They had cut a large rectangle around the lock and pried the trunk open. She had her camera, wallet, keys, and money in there. What doesn't make sense to me is how they knew she had anything in her trunk worth taking. She put her purse in there at Walmart and then drove to a walking trail, where she parked her car. So unless someone followed her from Walmart? Scary...
Yesterday we stained our fence. Amazingly it only took us four hours because our neighbors had rented a sprayer and they let us use it. We finished everything except a small section that faces the front and it's on the other side of the house. We couldn't easily get the sprayer over there and it was past dinner time by the time we got to that point so I'll finish it up this week sometime. Soooo nice to get that done! And sooo nice to have decent weather to do it in. Sunny and 70s.
Brooke starts preschool on Tuesday. She is so excited. We went to an open house and saw her classroom and met her teacher on Thursday. She seems really nice and the classroom is super cute. It looks like a great place.
And, I'm trying out a community choir on Tuesday evenings. Now that the kids are getting a bit older I can do something fun for me! Yay!
